Making the most of Summer Vacation Before Going Back to School

To my fellow Voiceover Talents, Creatives, and Collaboratives,

As we approach the end of the Summer, I wanted to spend some time reflecting on my Summer Vacation.

While I spent many days and nights auditioning for film and voiceover acting roles, it was an excellent time seeing Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s Epic Poem, “The Odyssey”. My experience in the movie theater was as excellent as when I produced and recorded my Commercial Demo with Edge Studio: “The Magic of movies…the real world just disappears”. Matt Damon’s performance was spectacular. And Argo’s true loyalty to his master, Odysseus, is so touching it made me and others cry in the theater.

I also remember seeing Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. It was an amazing experience in a galaxy far, far, away. It was great to see Pedro Pascal return as the main hero, Mando, and exploring the galaxy with one of my favorite voiceover acting mentors, Steve Blum, who stars in the film as Captain Zeb Orrelius.

And Grogu continues to touch my heart on screen. His actions in the film, with an army of tiny minions and being there for Mando when something happens to him, reminds me of Pikachu’s loyalty and friendship to Ash from Pokémon.

Glory to the small and relishing the little.

While I was cast in a film role this August, I cannot say anything about it yet. But it was a fun experience overall.

I even remember auditioning for a video game role because I made it to the shortlist for the game. I cannot confirm or deny if I got the role yet until I hear back from the creator of the project.

Towards the end of the Summer, there was another film at the end of the summer that I was cast in called Lucrutius Rising, with Renaissance Pictures and directed by Scott Crossman. While I wasn’t performing in the scene, I performed as the character, Lucrutius, “The voice of God” who talks to and about characters during the film and the situation that is happening. From what I have been told, this film is SAG-eligible.

While being an actor in the film industry is fun and rewarding, I am going back to College to study and be part of a Broadcasting Media Arts Specs Howard program at Lawrence Technological University. I want to learn how to do production and post-production for television, while broadcasting on the air as a radio host, DJ personality, making films as a director, and writing for TV shows and Movies of the future.
